FR Boris Charmatz est le nouveau directeur artistique du Tanztheater Wuppertal et y développe avec Terrain un nouveau projet entre l’Allemagne et la France. 10000 gestes est une forêt chorégraphique dans laquelle aucun geste n’est jamais répété par la vingtaine de danseurs et danseuses sur scène : 10.000 gestes exécutés sur le Requiem en ré mineur de Mozart, qui ne sont visibles qu’une seule fois et qui disparaissent aussitôt qu’ils sont tracés.

EN When choreographer and flamenco dancer Manuel Liñán was awarded Spain’s prestigious National Dance Prize in 2017, the citation praised him for ”broadening the horizons of flamenco“. While he includes customary elements, such as guitarist, singers and other musicians on stage with the dancers, his show ¡VIVA! plays with the traditionally strict gender roles in flamenco. Inspired by a childhood memory of dressing up in his mother’s skirt and dancing in secret, he has created in ¡VIVA!

EN The avant-garde work of Samoan director, designer and choreographer Lemi Ponifasio is the focus of the third red bridge project. After opening with Ponifasio’s  سدقلJerusalem, the project continues with Love to Death. Ponifasio created this new piece with MAU Mapuche –  the company he founded in Chile in 2015 - in response to the aftermath of the shooting of Camilo Catrillanca, a 24-year-old former Mapuche student and farmer.

EN Based on songs and lyrics by 17-time Grammy Award-winning artist Sting, the spectacular dance-theatre production from Sadler’s Wells and Universal Music UK returns to Luxembourg after its successful run at the Grand Théâtre in September 2021. Created by triple Olivier Award nominee and choreographic gamechanger Kate Prince, it follows the journey of three siblings who must embark on a perilous journey after their village comes under siege.

FR Après Magic Mozart (2021), le Grand Théâtre se réjouit d’accueillir Stéréo, la nouvelle création du chorégraphe et metteur en scène Philippe Decouflé et de la compagnie DCA. Stéréo est le résultat d’une envie de brillance, de virtuosité, d’énergie et de rock ’n’ roll. Une énergie brute qui est à elle seule le fondement du spectacle, portée par une équipe jeune aux talents multiples et complémentaires.

EN Leading contemporary circus ensemble Circa brings its latest production to the Grand Théâtre, this time alongside a live performance by the Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg of Beethoven’s groundbreaking 9th Symphony and the participation of the Accentus chorus, both conducted by Laurence Equilbey. The Brisbane-based Circa, led by Yaron Lifschitz, is at the forefront of a circus new wave. They tour widely and have previously brought Opus and Il Ritorno to Luxembourg.

EN Shahar Binyamini was a dancer with Batsheva Dance Company for seven years before branching out as a choreographer. He has created works for companies as diverse as Stuttgart’s Gauthier Dance and the Korean Bora. As designer as well as choreographer, Binyamini begins his creative process by drawing the world of his piece. In his choreography, he strives constantly to evolve the dance language he calls ”creature“.

FR Clementine est la nouvelle création de la chorégraphe et danseuse Rhiannon Morgan, que le public a pu voir, en janvier 2023, dans Songes d’une nuit… de Myriam Muller. La pièce, qui fait suite à une carte blanche du Trois C-L, raconte la quête de deux individus qui se cherchent, tentent de se trouver mais ne parviennent qu’à se perdre davantage. Clementine questionne notre perception des histoires romantiques et l’image que nous en projetons dans notre vie réelle et virtuelle.

FR La jeune danseuse et chorégraphe Laura Bachman, interprète remarquable de l’Opéra national de Paris jusqu’en 2016, puis de la compagnie de Benjamin Millepied à Los Angeles et de celle d’Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker (Rosas, 2016-2018), vient au Grand Théâtre avec sa première création Ne me touchez pas.

FR Avec Vénus Anatomique, la danseuse et chorégraphe Sarah Baltzinger, lauréate de la résidence de création à la chapelle Sainte-Marie d’Annonay, signe une nouvelle chorégraphie plongeant cinq femmes dans un univers absurde et horrifique, entre étude anatomique et fiction féministe. Fascinée par le corps marionnettique, Sarah Baltzinger souhaite construire un dialogue entre les corps bricolés et les modèles féminins dysfonctionnels.
