Ces dernières années, Faso Danse Théâtre est occupé sur le développement d’une technique de danse qui part de ces trois mots. Urgence, nécessité, vital.
Un vocabulaire dansé qui s'appuie sur une composition complexe des oppositions dans le mouvement, sur la fragilité, la violence intérieure, et la rapidité de la pensée.
Une recherche avec les stagiaires sur ce qui est urgent d’exprimer aujourd'hui avec son corps et comment l’exprimer dans l’espace.

With his latest large-scale independent production, Vlaemsch (chez moi), Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui wants to enter into a direct confrontation with the Flemish roots he has inherited from his mother's side. The piece opens the door to a mythical past, where movement becomes a form of memory work in which the roots of a personal, intimate Flemish identity are dug up, uprooted and rearranged. Working with dancers from all over the world, the aim is not to impose supposed Flemish values on them, but rather to look for a form of cultural contamination.

EN After its successful world-premiere and UK tour in 2023, Black Sabbath – The Ballet returns for an international tour this year. Black Sabbath forged their unique sound in Birmingham Royal Ballet’s home city.

EN Canadaʼs Ballet BC return to Luxembourg following their creative residency at Théâtres de la Ville in 2022, which culminated in a world premiere, choreographed by their artistic director Medhi Walerski. This season’s programme is a mixed bill of three more recent works. Passing (2023) from Swedish choreographer Johan Inger explores the vulnerabilities and sensitivities that make us individuals.

EN In her 60 years, Eun-Me Ahn has seen political, economic and cultural transformation in South Korea. Her choreography is often inspired by such rapid change, to create a colourful fusion of the shamanism of the East with the Western dance theatre of such pioneers as Pina Bausch and the techno beats of the nightclub. Following Dancing Grandmothers and Dragons, Eun-Me Ahn returns this season with Koshigi Monologue, based on interviews with older women about their first sexual experiences in post-war Korea.

DE Einen Grund zu feiern hat die Tanzkompanie des Theaterhaus Stuttgart: Gauthier Dance, die bereits oft an den Théâtres de la Ville zu Gast waren, werden fünfzehn – und tanzen mittlerweile an der europäischen Spitze. 15 YEARS ALIVE nimmt das Publikum mit auf eine ebenso emotionale wie abwechslungsreiche Reise – mit Stücken und Choreografen, die eine besondere Bedeutung für Gauthier Dance haben und Wegmarken in ihrer Entwicklung setzten.

DE Seit 2022 hat das Theaterhaus Stuttgart auch eine Juniorkompanie, die Gauthier Dance JUNIORS, die in dieser Spielzeit mit ihrer ersten eigenen Produktion Renaissance auf Tour sind. Das Programm spielt auf das Debüt der Hauptkompanie Gauthier Dance von 2008 an, Six Pack. Wie Six Pack besteht Renaissance aus sechs Stücken, getanzt von sechs TänzerInnen. Solos, Pas de deux und Gruppenstücke wechseln sich ab, allesamt erschaffen von international renommierten ChoreografInnen.

DE Nach Masurca Fogo, Vollmond, Kontakthof und Das Stück mit dem Schiff zeigen die Théâtres de la Ville 23 • 24 Nelken, eines der meistgespielten Stücke der großen Choreografin Pina Bausch. Dieses beeindruckt zuerst einmal durch das titelgebende Bühnenbild: eine riesige rosa Blumenwiese. Zwischendurch wird sie von Schäferhunden bewacht. Mit immer neuen Einfällen präsentiert das Ensemble die bedingungslose Macht der Liebe – mal kraftvoll und mal zärtlich, mal kitschig und mal absurd, mal traurig und mal komisch.
