EN A girl invites her best friend to her family's mysterious overseas estate for the holidays. When the friend reveals that her future at their elite boarding school is in jeopardy, the girl makes a decision with far-reaching consequences: she offers her friend her entire inheritance from her grandfather. As the two girls learn more about his legacy, however, they begin to question each other's motives and to wrestle with the differences between them. What they uncover next raises difficult questions about whether they can confront the past and survive the holidays once the foundations of their friendship have been laid bare.
The play is the second collaboration between playwright Anna Leader and director Richard Twyman, also Artistic Director of English Touring Theatre, whose Macbeth was presented at the Théâtres de la Ville last season. Likewise, it is the second commission to Leader by the Théâtres de la Ville, after the short play Deliver Us, as part of the Connection project during the pandemic (20·21). The international team includes actress Dorothée Neff, set and costume designer Anouk Schiltz and composer Nigji Sanges.
